Settling In...

Well, it has been one month and 5 days since Easton Kydon Bowen was born and we are enjoying every minute of our newest addition! Yes, we have had our long nights and fussy moments, but goodness, how wonderful those moments are because they are with him! How can anyone think that there is no God when you see a child? To know that God knew everything about Easton even before we knew he existed?!? Its amazing! For nine months he lived in my belly and the day he was born, he knew how to breathe, how to suck, how to cry to let us know he needed us?!? Every day I am more and more amazed when I look at Easton. And to see how Kydon is such a great father....I am so blessed, WE are so blessed!

Easton is now able to follow objects with his eyes, smile and he has definetly found his voice! :) He's growing so fast! He's already grown out of all of his newborn clothes and we go to the doctor tomorrow for his one month checkup. I'm thinking that he'll be at least 11 pounds and 22 1/2 inches...he's a big boy! And he's so alert these days!! He LOVES being outside and taking rides in the car. He just looks around and talks! Its the cutest thing ever! I look forward to his first word...I have a feeling it's going to be "no"! haha...he is not the most patient person in the world either! :) And he doesn't like to be bothered either! haha...I can't wait for everyone in the world to meet him and see all of his little personality traits coming out!!!

Well, he's hungry so I have to go! Thank you Lord for all of Your many blessings!!

Easton Kydon Bowen is Here!!!

Hopefully all of you are aware that Easton Kydon Bowen was born Wednesday, June 24th at 8:08pm weighing in at 8lbs 8oz and 21.5 inches long! He had a head of brownish/red hair that has progressively become darker every day! He has his daddy's beautiful skin color and is just perfect!! I ended up having to have a c-section after stopping at 9 1/2 cm for 4 hours....he just didn't want to come down any further! We just got to Keith and Sunni's house today where we'll stay for a few days while I recover and my mom and sister are here to help. He is such a good baby!! He only cries when there's something he needs and is super alert when he is awake!! Who knew that you could love someone so much from the moment you see them. Kydon and I are so thankful to God for His protection and provision throughout the pregnancy and for the birth of a healthy baby boy. We give Him all the praise and glory for this miracle and for all He's done for our family! Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we adjust to this new life!! Easton does have some jaundice but nothing to be alarmed over, we are just keeping an eye on it and making sure he gets plenty of sunlight during the day! He finally starting taking to breastfeeing yesterday and is doing very well now! Praise Jesus! It was very saddening and frustrating in the beginning so, I am so thankful that he finally latched on!! Kydon and I are tired, but unaware of it until we lay down!! haha...nothing really seems to be important other than Easton anymore! Its amazing how God changes you to be a parent when it happens! Well, I hope you all get to meet Easton soon! He is changing every day and I can only imagine what he will be like in a month!! Love you all and thank you for all of your support and prayers!!

Oh How We've Grown! :)

So, we started taking pics of me when we found out I was pregnant so we could see the progression of our growth throughout....the only thing I had to wear that I knew would grow with me at the time was my bathing suit so, it may seem a little scandalous, but I thought you might want to see just a couple of the pics to see how much I've grown throughout the pregnancy! Just for a small update, me and Easton are doing very well. I am definitely getting more and more uncomfortable as the days go on, but I still feel great for the most part AND I still have an innie!! :) We're only 3 weeks away today from his due date so, he will be here before we know it! Please keep us in your prayers as the days get closer and closer and be on the lookout for a call or text!!! You never know when he'll decide to make his grand entrance!!

The Apartment, Almost Done!

Hello! Well, as you know, we "remodeled" our little apartment in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry House and it has come a VERY long way! Here are some before and after pics! Kydon and our friend JT did a TON of work and Keith and Sunni were priceless as well! Thanks to everyone for all of your help! We had many friends and family who contributed and we are so grateful! Now our little family has somewhere clean and pretty to live for a year! :)

Hello all! Sorry I haven't updated this in a while...lots going on! We have officially moved into our new apartment at the Baptist Collegiate Ministries on UT's campus and are really loving it! We are still adjusting somewhat, but it is all coming together! Easton is growing and doing great! He's a healthy little boy as far as we know! He is still a mover and shaker too! I feel him all the time now a days! I am currently 7 1/2 months along now so, the big day is getting closer and closer! We are so excited and cannot wait to meet him! I am no longer working so I have been able to get stuff ready for Easton and his nursery is slowly but surely coming along. I know he's going to love it! Kydon is busy working at Aubrey's Restuarant and preparing for the church plant, OneLife Church. Our first meeting is May 31st! We are so excited to see what God is going to do through the church. We know He has big plans for it and us! Also, some new news, my best friend, Emily Bradley, is engaged! It happened Sunday night on bike ride where she almost died! haha....Her fiance is Daniel Haires, he is wonderful and I am SO excited and happy for them! Baby showers are getting going these days, I have one May 2nd, May16th and June 7th! What wonderful friends and family we have that care for us and love us enough to take the time and energy to do these! Thank you so much! We love you all! Well, that's about all the news I have for now....I do have some new pics though! My friend Laura Norvelle took these beautiful pictures above for us today! She is amazing and I am so thankful that she wanted to do this for us! Well, I guess til next time, love ya!

It's Easton's big debut!! Here are the ultrasound pics from last Wednesday...these two are of his face and the top part of his chest/stomach....isn't he handsome?!?! Just like his daddy! :)

IT'S A BOY!!

Well, we went to the doc today for our first ultrasound and to find out the baby's sex...it wasn't hard to tell what we were having when the tech looked between the legs...he's definitely a boy! :) And a very active one at that! He was moving like crazy...I guess he's heard a little too much Beyonce.... ;) So, we've had a name for a boy since we knew we were having a baby....his name is Easton Bowen. We don't have a middle name picked out yet, but we have plenty of time for that. After work, we went straight to Babies R Us and picked out his first little items....one pair of black and red Puma tennis shoes, a bib that says "Cute But Messy...Just Like Daddy", a onesie that says "I (heart) MOM", a little outfit with monkeys on it that says "I'm Bananas for my Mommy", and two onesies one blue and white striped with a crab that says "Hug Me" on it and one navy blue that has a whale that says "Splish Splash" on it....we're so excited! This is going to be so fun! We cannot wait to meet him in person!! Well, I'm going to try and post our ultrasound video and pics on here, but not sure if it will work or not. Thank you for your prayers for our baby's health, he is perfectly healthy and we could not be more thankful to God for that. We love you and hope to see you all soon!

I've Sprouted!

Well, last week, I woke up and surprise! I was a LOT bigger! I had sprouted over night! So, now, I have no work pants to wear and it's freezing outside so...not good...anywho, I have some pics and a little video up for you to see if you want...they're not the best in the world, but they'll work for now...I'll try and post better ones in the future. Only one week until we find out the sex!! YAY! Love ya!

Getting Closer!

We went to the doc today for our normal monthly appointment and heard the heartbeat again....it just never gets old....it was very strong and steady and perfectly healthy! We also scheduled our ultrasound to find out the sex!! We are going to find out on Wednesday, February 11th! So, be on the lookout for our next exciting post!!! Keep warm, it's cold and rainy here...ugghh

Snow Days

Well, this morning I woke up and was so excited!! There was an inch of snow all over the ground!! It was BEAUTIFUL! I haven't seen this much snow in at least 4 years! God is so good to us, and we do not deserve it....ever! I have been praying for snow all winter long, I know it seems vain, but I love it so much and I miss it so much! This weekend, not only did we find out that God has been laying out a path for Kydon and I that is greater than we would have ever dreamed, but He also loved me enough to do such a little thing as give me snow....God is good, all the time, all the time, God is good! It is His nature, He IS good! Well, I hope everyone that loves snow is getting to enjoy this beautiful gift as much as I am! Rejoice in the Lord always and again, I say REJOICE!! :)

And so it begins....

Hello to all! I have been told that I need to start a blog so that we can share our life journies with those we love but are miles apart from. Really, no one cared that much until we found out we were pregnant...now we just HAVE to have a blog to post pictures and tell exciting news! haha...jk....we are very excited and I am looking forward to sharing this new experience with you all! The most recent news in our lives has to do with Kydon. He just found out that he will be interning with the UT Knoxville BCM(Baptist Collegiate Ministries) and also with a church plant in Powell, TN! We are VERY excited about this news and are both looking forward to what these ministries will bring! Well, that's all for now...I'm sure you will hear back from me soon seeing that we find out the sex of the baby next month! Can't wait! Love you all!
